Green Man
I went on a weekend linocutting course at the Broadlands Art Centre in Norfolk, because the tutor was the renowned printmaker Richard Bawden. My Man includes many influences: apart from the obvious, the triangle patterns around the edges are taken from Norman stone carving designs in St Mary de Haura Church, Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, and the vines for his hair are from Chartres Cathedral.
The ink I used was a mixture of green and orange, on cream paper. Print size: 30 x 30cm/12" x 12" |
