Furlongs

In the 1930's, the artist Eric Ravilious used to visit a cottage under the Downs near Lewes called Furlongs. Eric Ravilious has been a very powerful inspiration to me.

This is my representation of that cottage, and Beddingham Hill behind.

Eric Ravilious used the motif of a biplane many times in his work, and when I went to visit the cottage, there was a biplane flying overhead...which said something to me -
